CO-OP 0116 -- CO-OP @ E3 2009: Post-Show Memories - Mass Effect 2, Left 4 Dead 2, Dragon Age: Origins, Tony Hawk: Ride
matt chandronaitThis really was the best E3 in recent memory. The spectacle of the big show returned while being workable enough to allow us time to see nearly all our favorites on the show floor. The big publishers had decked out their booths with almost all playable games. The main complaint heard around the show floor this year: “How am I gonna afford all this shit?” More after the show:
Before meandering our way up the desolate (and yet amazingly beautiful) 5 freeway from San Francisco to California, we had one, final, incredible day at E3. Getting to play some Left 4 Dead 2 was certainly a highlight, but the impromptu Mass Effect 2 and Dragon Age: Origins hands-on experiences pretty much blew our pants off. Yes, we were pants-less in front of Drs. Ray Muzyka and Greg Zeschuk, the two heads of BioWare that, prior to inviting us to come spend time with ME2 and DA:O graced us with a solid interview surrounding both those products and their upcomming MMO, Star Wars: The Old Republic.
Tony Hawk: Ride introduced yet another plastic peripheral you’ll likely have to find storage space for.
Next week’s show will be a compilation of some of the best moments from the live streams we had at E3—which will be in SD since our live streams were in SD—and then the following week we’ll be back with our premiere of Season 02! Hard to believe we’ve already gone through a complete season of CO-OP. We couldn’t have done it without you!

Just watched. Well done, guys, for making it through E3. I was quite intrigued by the Mass Effect 2 footage you looked at - really doesn't look like an RPG at all anymore - something I'm in favour of. I was also quite surprised by the positive reaction to the new TH peripheral - I assume you guys skate, due to the way you were talking about it, so it's intriguing to see that it's got the potential for good stuff.
Anyway, well done again guys.

Brutal Legend was there. It's just that they sponsored our trip down to E3 so we didn't feel it would be very ethical of us to cover it.
Great show guys been enjoying the coverage of E3, I'm Still picking up litte things from around the Web, it's been gigantic this year I think, so many good games coming, Heavy Rain Especially, really looking forward to see if people can accept the fact that one of your chracter perhaps dies, and then playing on instead of just loading the "level" again to avoid the dying, brave move by David Cage.
And The Last Guardian, I mean Damm!

Hey congrats on finishing season one(even if it's not exactly finished yet.)! I loved every episode. I can't wait to see some more. Little question though. Are you thinking about changing the opening? I absolutely adore the way it is now, but it would be really neat to just change it up a little. Maybe throw some footage of you guys doing your normal everyday stuff. I'd just love to see a sitcom-style opening with a remix of your super-cool theme song... Argh, I'm rambling. I'm sure you've already thrown around a few ideas. Look I really just want to say thank you for doing what you do, and keep up the good work. You guys shine a bright light on my dim life every week.

Tony hawk was pretty awsome at e3, an ollie was kind of difficult fo me to do and end up doing a kick flip. I guess doing an ollie on a real board and plastic one is different, Btw I saw jay frsh at e3 but sadly he was talking on the phone.
Quick question:
Why is the downloadable HD MP4 version from this page and the HD MP4 you get from iTunes different in size (about 100 megs difference)?
They are the same resolution (720p), framerate (30 fps) and codec. Just curious.
Just an observation, but why are the 3 white dudes all in one car while the 3 "ethnic" looking dudes are in the other? Damn racists! j/k

For some reason the videos aren't loading for me anymore. It's just white. I am running firefox and have the latest flash.
The file names for the previous and this show one state that the show numbers are 0115 and 0116 respectively. However, titles for the posts of both eps state that it's 0114.

Good work as always guys! Unbelievable how many shows you got done for E3 and out so fast! Cudos! And the Brütal Legend skits were awesome, I'm getting that game day one!
But is it just me who can't find any 'Splosion Man in this episode!?
Man, Dragon Age looks dull in comparison to Mass Effect. It's hard to believe we're are still making games today where you stand next to a largely inanimate enemy and just hit it with a sword until it falls over.
So... just how long does it take to get from SF to CA on the 5? But seriously, I can't wait for our Japanese/European bullet train.
I'm very excited for Left 4 Dead 2. I don't care what the complaining geeks want to scream about, it looks like a great game.
@MrGYoureSwell ... Yeah, we definitely want to do that in the future, but for now we simply don't have the time to change it up. New music and new intros per season are definitely on the docket :)

@Richard ... well, it's the RPG-ness of Dragon Age that I find appealing. The action is secondary for me, but I take your point.
@Sonic Alpha ... yeah, that was my fuckup. It is, indeed, episode 116, but the Digg link was already submitted so I didn't want to futz with it until later.
@Peter Lount ... Honestly, man, I have no idea. Revision3 handles all of the iTunes uploads, so I'm not sure how that's handled.
@Matt: I'm all for roleplaying, I just want the role I'm playing to be exciting. I want to feel like my actions have some effect on the game world, and this kind of breaks that for me.
Just wanted to say thanks for the E3 coverage! only managed to catch one of the live shows so looking forward to the best of next week. Also congrats on season 1 of CO-OP, easily my fav videogame show.
