matt chandronaitWe’re still on holiday for one more week but that doesn’t mean we didn’t cook up something nice for you ahead of time. I actually just got back and this is my first look at what the rest of the team (and by team, I mean Jason) cooked up for our break-week show. And boy am I ever furious! FURIOUS I tell you! Or, at least I will be after I stop laughing. Jason stole Ryan’s camera and all of AREA 5’s backup drives to construct an all-new episode of the Jason Show. Despite our wishes, behind our backs, Jason has filled his episode with outtakes and behind-the-scenes moments that the rest of the crew wishes the world didn’t have access to. More after the show:
But out-takes aren’t all we’ve got in store this week! Thanks to Dan Hsu from BitMob for chattin’ with Cesar and our friend Paul about the incredibly-new, incredibly old-school, thankfully-hard-core New Super Mario Bros. Wii! Nostalgia is in abundance here, as is Nintendo’s M.O., but this offering is the most literal re-creation of a classic yet. With the addition of 4-player multiplayer! It’s a surprising twist that may seem too chaotic at first but creates an atmosphere of laughter and fun for anyone who’s fortunate enough to sit down in a room with three friends and give it a go.

I think it's great to see some episodes that do not follow the usual flow of scenes. This almost reminded me of a 25 minute "Area 5 Snack" which is downright awesome.
I'll be the first to say: Jason better start stealing the camera more in the future, because The Jason Show must return again!
@Courtney and Matt. I actually remember reading in an reply to a letter in EGM a while ago that Shoe used to write reviews of sports cars before he got into gaming journalism. Some guy was questioning EGM's authority to say that Gran Turismo had realistic physics or something, so Shoe mentioned something about this former job. This was a while ago, so I could be wrong.
Also, I'm getting concerned by the low number of diggs the videos have been getting recently.

I like how Kat didn't even flinch when the bulb exploded. It was "a deer in the headlights" moment.
Praise the lord or any other religious icon! Finally a good 2-D side scroller Mario Game on the Wii!

Great episode. I love seeing all the deleted footage. Though I can see why some of it was deleted. Jayfresh is quite the singer in the shower.
I love the new Super Mario Bros. The chaos of the four player is just so much fun. Me and my friends just end up throwing each off cliffs and throwing shells at each other, it is just pure madness.

@AJ ... yeah, I'm not sure why the Diggs are so low. I know the link was broken in the last few for a while, so that's that problem, but this week's I think I fixed fairly early. It's weird, I cut and past the code in and it looks exactly as it should, but some weeks it's just borked. Not sure why.

Just wanted to drop a note and say great show as always and ... congratulations on the EGM gig! I was a longtime reader of EGM and was extremely excited to see the magazine coming back. With you guys on board it will be awesome, I know. I'm quite looking forward to the possibilities coming out this.
