Introducing Area 5 "Snacks"
matt chandronaitWe're always bouncing ideas back and forth about possible segments, shows, or just ridiculous ideas for narrative bits. Sometimes these things come to fruition. We just came up with a name for them: Area 5 "Snacks." Often a Snack will be born out of everyday experiences. Yesterday Rob brought in a robot piggy bank loaded with change. Armed with a Zi6 and an hour to kill for lunch, Jason and Rob embarked on an adventure and documented it in a little piece called "Robo Bank."
We know you want to see more about what we do outside the show so we'll be trying to get more pieces like this--and more photo blogs--up on a regular basis to keep you updated. Ryan and Cesar are putting the finishing touches on part 2 of our 2008 retrospective so keep an eye out for our next update. Also, make sure to subscribe to our Youtube Channel.

Great to hear that you guys will be doing more photo blogs-- like I said in my previous post, I think that'd be a great idea. The sketch was awesome, by the way. The clerk where you guys bought the Luchador mask didn't seem too thrilled. Looking forward to more of these kinda things-- and for part 2 of the last Co-op!

Retrospective part 2 tonight, or not?

Funny video. The name is perfect, "snack" is such a comfy word. Reminds you of when you are a little kid and just got home from school.
I'm glad that you guys don't worry about putting out smaller videos when you feel like it, this really gives your site a more personal feel rivaling the old days at 1UP. This must be a monumental task for you to put out a weekly show AND make more videos like this, and I greatly appreciate what you're doing for your fans. You guys are awesome! Thank you!

Really want to see you guys get busy with the paid content. I always watch the show on my ipod and would gladly pay a small sum for the privilege. I've seen a lot of TV that has tried to cover video games both network and amateur. You guys do it right and the content is always pitched right where I want it. It's great to be able to watch a show about games that doesn't patronise me or play to the teen market.
I was gutted when I found out about the series of events at EGM (believe it or not, I found out when trying to get a subscription to the mag after having watched your show for some time - I'm from the UK so couldn't just walk out and buy a copy). The reason you have such a groundswell of support is that you really are the best game in town when it comes to games commentary in this format. Keep up the good work and I would expect the internet gaming community will support you...I most certainly will be. Thank you.
I saved up $60 in change this summer, but that was money I was saving for my upcoming wedding. :P

Do Youtube channels have an RSS feed? I'd rather not have to create a Youtube account if I don't have to. If not, I guess so long as you have a corresponding entry on this site for every new video I'll be fine with your "Entries" RSS feed.

I, too, hope we can get some kind of paid thing going soon, but we're still in a lot of talks with various content partners and if we can offer what we do for free, we will! It's crazy how fast AND how slow things can move in the business world all at the same time :)
